We are looking for an x-ray supervisor for our medical center in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

As a X Ray Supervisor, he or she will be expected to provide the highest quality X Ray services to applicants. He or She will work closely with the Center Manager and the Medical Director at QMC and be responsible to mentor and

supervise the staff who reports to you.


Job Responsibilities:

Participates in the recruitment and selection process of X-ray Technicians

To work as X –ray Technician at the Center

To work closely with Center Manager and Medical Director to ensure all the trainings, protocols and SOPs are adhered to and followed

To ensure performance of the team is kept intact and any training intervention if required are reported on time

To ensure proper documentations and maintain records of the Department and responsible for maintaining MIS (daily/weekly/monthly).

Liaising with corporate team or Central Team in Corporate office to ensure all the protocols, processes are adhered in terms of updates from ministry, process updates, IT updates or any departmental updates.

Provides X -Ray services by directing and coordinating the services of X Ray and diagnostic imaging procedures.

Comply with all clinical procedures and regulations and ensuring that team members do the same.

Supports applicants by resolving X Ray issues with physicians, X Ray Technician, and ancillary staff.

Improving and maintaining quality assurance program for department functions.

Improves quality results by evaluating accuracy and quality of images; providing technical assistance; implementing new techniques, equipment, and procedures.

Provides statistical reports of department.

Maintain safety standards as they relate to radioactivity as provided by and local regulations, and keep staff and applicants within safety levels

AERB guidelines Compliances, TLD Badges for staff

The evaluation of the staff to be done based on performance on a regular basis, through PMS.

Monitor and ensure the TAT for the radiographers is adhere to.

Ensure the feedback is collected for all the applicants through CSAT device and monitor the same.

Ensure equipment maintenance as per schedule. Ensure upkeep of all equipment and instruments (minor and major). Record any maintenance/breakdown

Closely work with IT Team for smooth operations

Ensuring the adequate deployment of manpower throughout the operational shifts.

Ensuring that good quality of images is captured and uploaded to minimize the number of referral’s generated

To ensure that x-ray technician is re-checking the applicant details before uploading the image/s in the PACS in order to prevent wrong image uploading.

Essential Functions:

    Review and judge effectiveness of operation, utilization of employees and supplies, and general ethical and professional atmosphere is maintained.

    Oversee work schedules for Technicians daily to ensure proper coverage

    Annual personnel performance evaluation

    Validating the daily quality control and leading quality assurance program for Radiology

    Following up instruments’ maintenance to ensure persistent readiness

    Coordinating referral and checking their bills (invoice/service receipt)

    Collaborate with radiologist to discuss applicants’ results when needed

    Establish new operation standards for cost containment, quality, safety, and complete on-time delivery.

    Coordinate with Radiology Equipment company and service provider for preventive maintenance, breakdown calls and calibration. 

    To ensure daily check for Radiology equipment and maximum uptime of equipment


Metrics & Organization Management: 

Performance Metrics: 

    Turn Around Time (TAT) –

1.    The total time taken between the submission of required documents for execution and upload the final report on the software system

    Clarity of Images Produced –

1.    All test reports to be processed with utmost clarity

2.    Adherence to Policies & Procedures –

    Adherence to -

1.    A code of conduct i.e., set of rules that become a standard for all employees under different circumstances in the workplace.

2.    Behavioral standards -the reasonable standards of behavior that are expected of them in the workplace. This includes collaborating with coworkers, time keeping, ownership of assigned tasks, ability to take additional responsibilities etc.

    Customer Satisfaction – CSAT score as agreed 

    Team Handling KRA’s


OM & Reporting: 

    Administrative reporting to the Center Manager

    Functional Reporting to the Medical Director, Corporate Office


Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements:

    Certificate / Diploma in Radiography

    02-4 years working experience as a Radiographer.

    Working experience in QC of Radiology is preferred.

    Possess good verbal and writing communication skills and be a good team player

    Ability to work in a computerized environment and should be familiar with MS Office package and email

    Age preferred between 25 – 40 years
